My beautiful mother passed away last night. I am absolutely devastated. We only found out a few weeks ago that she had stage 4 cancer. I'm in pieces.
Can anyone recommend something for me to listen to about grief. And how to cope. Thanks

I am so sorry Flowers

I haven’t been in your shoes, but I have heard that Griefcast is very good. Wishing you comfort x

Sorry for your loss op Flowers

I am very sorry for your loss.

My father died last year and I was heartbroken (still am). I found Julia Samuel to be very helpful and sensible. She has published lots of books and has videos on Youtube.

Do take care of yourself - I know it can be a terrible time.

I'm so sorry Flowers

The exact same happened to us, and my mum went a couple of weeks ago. You're not alone. Cruse have been really good.

I’m sorry about your Mum. Your heart must ache. When my father died, I found the Emma Freud Guardian article called How to do a funeral, a big help. X

Oh, you poor thing. I've no advice but just hope you have loved ones you can lean on Flowers

I'm so sorry. I know it's devastating now, but I promise you it will get easier in time. In the meantime, just take each day as it comes. You'll have good days and bad days. Take care.

StinkingCold · 29/09/2021 22:25

I'm so sorry OP xx my mum died on 9th sept. The first few days are horrible, a dreamy, surreal, devastating time. But the fog will lift a little and once you manage a bit of sleep and start to process things a bit, you'll begin to feel better. Please please look after yourself in this time Flowers

Sending you big hugs Flowers

I’m so sorry about your Mum. I lost my own wonderful Mum in March 2019. Just keep breathing in the early days - just get through the next hour if it’s really hard. Take extra care of yourself, if you can. And remember the love and the memories haven’t died, they are always with you and always will be. You will also always be your Mums daughter - nothing will ever change that. Flowers

I found David Kessler very good later on.
Much love to you - it’s a club nobody wants to join.

Millshake01 · 16/10/2021 22:28

@UpintNorth thank you. I am writing mums eulogy. It's so damn hard keeping it within 600 words. She packed so much into her life. I have so much I would like to say about her.
I can't believe I no longer have a mum. When they told us her cancer was aggressive I never thought for one minute they meant weeks. I was hoping at least to have her until Christmas. Still reeling in shock.
I'm sorry you have lost your mum also. There's nothing like a mother's love. Which we no longer have. It's heartbreaking 💔 xx
