A friend of mine had recently lost her ex dp (ds father) to suicide. She is hurt as she's lost the father of her child even though they have been separated for years and her son is distraught at the loss of his father (they did have a relationship). Is sending a card enough? I want to help in someway and can't think of how, I know this isn't about me so is it best if I keep a distance? I've never lost a close family member and can't even imagine the grief they are feeling so don't want to over step.

I have just lost my brother. All I really want is people to check in with me. One of my very good friends sends me a text each day and doesn’t care one bit if I reply or not. She just lets me know she’s thinking of me and will listen when I’m ready to talk

A card
And perhaps enclose a supermarket voucher and say… I am at a loss as to how to help but please know I’m here for you. Please use this for an online delivery xxx
