Someone else's loss

I've just found out that a colleague has lost her baby, she was about six months pregnant.
I feel so bad for her and is has also brought flooding back memories of my similar loss of my own son, 8 yrs ago.
I'm seeing her manager tomorrow to talk about her mat leave etc. but feel overwhelmed by it all as I know how she may be feeling right now.

It's bound to bring back unhappy memories UM but hopefully it will help you be more sympathetic than most might. Could you dop her a line just to say you're thinking of her & offer to have a chat if it would help/you could cope with it?
