bad news

Hi everyone - just needed someone to talk to- i had posted this earlier in the year mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=9&threadid=338381#6865491..and my brother called yesterday to say that at scan they could only find one heartbeat. i am so gutted for them and feel so helpless.. apologies but dont know what else to do.

33 weeks. i think thats why its so upsetting as we thought they were passed the crucial stage. We had also agreed to tell my dd who is 4 about them just a few weeks ago. thanks again as i know it is a horrible thing but just being able to talk about it is a relief - thanks everyone.

Thatas so sad, your family must be so upset. Does te baby with the heartbeat seem healthy?

as far as i know .. as you can imagine details were pretty sketchy yesterday so we are waiting more information on what happens next

What happens to the surviving twin??? Gosh how horrible. I would think they will have to deliver.
Fingers crossed that they will still have one healthy baby.
(don't mean to sound callous about the second baby)
Is it possible that the heartbeat was hidden by other noise????

33 weeks - how awful. Hopefully it means that the other twin will be OK - they can induce if anything is going wrong. What sad news...

afaik there was no mistake unfortunatley - we are waiting to hear if delivery will induced just now or if they will wait -just got the news yesterday and so are waiting for further update-will post again when i know, thanks again everyone for listening/posting
