My daughter died on New Year’s Day 5 years ago. I always feel out of sync with the world right now. Fireworks and celebrations....... not for us

Anyone else? Misery loves company I guess

I'm so sorry Flowers.

Not the same at all, but my mum died on Christmas Eve a few years ago and her mum, (my nana), sadly outlived her. She never really celebrated Christmas after that.

I hope you're ok.

Me. Lost my mum 07.11.20. First new year without both of my parents. Am in bed sobbing like I've never sobbed before.

I’m so sorry RosewoodBox, the first year is really really hard.

Unspeakably, thanks I always say it was a most inconvenient time to die. A random date would have been far easier now!

@RosewoodBox same. 💔

So sorry op, the world is cruel , parents should not out live their babies x

Sorry OP💐

I hope you have someone with you for comfort.

I lost my dear Dad this year, January 2020. Missing him so much especially at this time of year. & 1st anniversary of his death is coming up soon. I'm dreading it. My Aunt who I was close with died 4 days ago.

Thinking of all bereaved.

Sorry for all your loses. I had a severe loss 9 years ago and I was gradually trying to get back to some sort of life, then I lost my dear mum at the end of Oct . So I don’t think that I’ll ever bother celebrating Christmas and new year again. It feels all so wrong.
