My sister died yesterday

It was expected. 37YO, diagnosed with cancer last year when unfortunately it had already spread.

But even still I can't believe that she is gone. I swing from OK to feeling very emotional. I've watched her slowly fade away for the last nine months, I can't believe it's over now. I'm sat looking at old photos of her on my phone crying my eyes out.

Oh my goodness. That is so sad OP and so young. Take comfort that she is not suffering anymore and remember the happy times you spent together.

I am so sorry - the loss of a sister is so very hard - it feels like a piece of yourself dies with them too.
Ok to cry and rage.
If you need to chat PM me - I have lost a sister too.

Junenamechange · 08/08/2020 01:35

@Fatted what a terrible shame at such a young age. I wish you many happy memories of your beloved sister. One day you will smile at all the memories xx

AhBallix · 08/08/2020 01:51

I'm so very sorry. It's hard to know what to say that doesn't sound like a cliche. My sister died at 27 (I was 28). That was 25 years ago and she is still the best person I ever knew.

I hope you have someone to share your grief with. Thanks

Lysianthus · 08/08/2020 01:52

So sorry Flowers. There is no easy way through grief and to see your loved one struggle with illness is so tough. Be kind to yourself op.

Fatted · 08/08/2020 06:03

Thank you all for your kind words. The day it happened I was numb and I think suddenly it all came out yesterday.

She was beautiful, the best of all of us, so smart and a wonderful mum to her son. It just doesn't feel fair.
