Dad died yesterday of cancer. Because of covid-19, I could not get there to see him before his passing of as a result won't be there for the scatering of his ashes. I'm in Melbourne where the second lockdown has hapened. Feeling like shit today.

So sorry for your loss Flowers
My dad died (of cancer) mid June and I live in japan and couldn't get back.
The funeral was live streamed so I (and other family who could be there) could take part.
No idea when I'll be able to get over to the UK next - such a difficult situation Sad

*who couldn't be there

So sorry for you OP. It’s awful isn’t it?
Can the scattering of ashes be delayed? When my mum died we waited months and months until everyone was ready to do as she had wished. It doesn’t have to be immediate.

Flowers So sorry for the loss of your dad and the difficult circumstances.

Flowers so sorry.
Could some ashes be held back for you? (When a friend died, his parents divided the ashes up into little bags so everyone could scatter a bit of him - a lovely gesture).

I'm so very sorry for your loss, blindmusicmum.

The distance is terrible, and more so now. I'm In Melbourne, though not in your situation, but appreciate as much as I can the separation.

As others have said, can some of his ashes be kept back for you?

Many Thanks
