Thoughtful gift ideas needed

It will soon be the anniversary of my friend's Mum's death and I would like to get something nice and meaningful....any ideas.

A photograph frame or a beautiful album so that she can make up a special reminder of her mum??

Or how about a treasure box so that she can keep any little momentoes of her mum in it?

How about a plant / tree for the garden - a living lasting reminder ??

Did you know her mum? A card with a message inside I think would be really nice - letting your friend know that you haven't forgotten and know how important her mum was, sort of thing

I would say just a nice card would be best, maybe hand made. imo (only), i'm not sure I would feel all that comfortable with a gift tbh. Then again, if you really want to give a gift, maybe just some flowers.

When it was the first anniversary of my friend's mum's death I sent flowers and a card. Each year since I have made a point of remembering to email her that day - this year I thought "shall I stop?" (not in a nasty way, just wondered if I should). Anyway - I did email, just to say I was thinking of her and she was so pleased I had remembered and said how much it meant to her. Made me determined to do it every year.
