Book for 3yo

Can anyone suggest a book I can buy to read my 3yo to help him understand his Grandad's death?

Are you sad, little bear? A lovely book with great pictures and just the right sentiment - we bought it for DS at about that age.

Theres a story called the water bug that's quite good. Theres a little religious but at the end that can be cut out though. I'll see if I can find it.
