I'm after some advice

My partner died last weekend and I've got an appointment with his solicitor next week to discuss the will and probate.
He had 2 buy to let interest only mortgages in his name. I know I'm named as beneficiary in his will but I'm worrying what will happen with these 2 properties.
I've tried looking online to see if these mortgages will pass onto me or if they will go back to the lender.
I really want to keep them as we have a great relationship with the tenants and it would also help to keep this source of income.
Have any of you been in a similar situation and what was the outcome. Thanks

Sorry for your loss. Try not to worry too much about the financial stuff as you'll have
some time to investigate what is best for you.

I doubt the mortgages will pass to you but given they are buy to lets and basically self funding, you will probably be able to apply to take them on in your name. Each lender is different and will have different credit policies and processes so your best bet is to contact them, tell them what you'd like to achieve and see how they can help.

If they are high street bank mortgages, a local branch is often a good place to start.

Hopefully your partner took out life insurance which should ensure that the mortgages on the properties are paid off in the event of his death which, sadly, has taken place.

Flowers I trust that all will become clearer when you meet with his solicitor.
