I lost my Dad almost 9 yrs ago in a road traffic incident. He was on a bike, person pulled to turn across the road in front of him. Person was initially arrested for causing death by dangerous driving. Eventually prosecuted by CPS for causing death by careless driving. He pleaded not guilty but was clearly in the wrong with his driving & was found guilty after a trial at Magistrates court.

The sudden loss & experiencing the delay for autopsy before we could have his funeral & then the court case was all immensely traumatic. I had also not long since had my second child and relocated back to the UK, partly to be closer to family.

Long story short the grief was immense & I'm not convinced that I've ever properly processed & dealt with this all even though it was such a long time ago. Life is so busy & kids/job/daily grind were always prioritized. I am hoping you lovely people might be able to recommend some reading/self-help sources as I'm going to have a bit of spare time coming up & would like to try and work this through more if I can.

Hello @HappyGoLuckyLuLu, I’m so sorry that you lost your dad. I lost my lovely mum 9 months ago. I read a few books shortly after losing her. Overcoming Grief despite the poor title (in my view) was the most sympathetic in writing style and content. I hope it can provide you with some support even though nothing can take away the heartbreak.
