what to write in card........

One of the lovely ladies at dp's work has had a terminal cancer diagnosis and has virtually no time left.Dp is so sad and he wants to write a card but everything sounds so wrong

Oh, that's really sad. I would write something like "We are so sorry to hear your bad news; thinking of you and please let us know if we can do anything to help" maybe?? I know it's really hard because you'll worry about saying something wrong but I think she will be pleased to get a card and know she has your support. x
