My friend lost her mum a couple of weeks ago, tomorrow is the funeral ( I'm going)

I've bought a card, it isn't really a sympathy card, more of an " I'm thinking of you", but I don't know what to write?

I'm thinking of something along the " I hope the day goes ok" lines but don't know how to say it?! Maybe hope the day is gentle? Your mum would have been so proud?

My friend has really struggled and I just want her to know I'm thinking of her

How about this? "My thoughts are with you at this sad time"

Thanks @lumpsofitroundtheback , I've already sent a sympathy card with that sort of wording, I'm looking for something more specific about the day but can't think what! I thought of something lovely the other day but can't remember now Grin

Do you have any specific memories of your friend’s Mum? I remember writing about how a friend’s mum made the best carrot cake I had ever tasted, and how much I wished I could make something so delicious.
My friend seemed to love that very personal memory.
Is there something like that you could put into the card?

What helped me was a card that said something along the lines of 'today will be an extremely hard day, i will be here for you today and every day so on, your dad lives on through you and your memories' it was quite wordy but felt much more personal than all the 'sad time' messages.

We've recently lost someone close. It was the funny little stories that made us smile. People sharing stories of our love one. To be honest anything from the heart. x

Ah fantastic! Yes I've got some great memories, she wasn't just my friends mum she was also my friend. I'm going to miss her a lot Sad. We spent a lot of time, just the two of us, joking and being naughty Grin

That would be a good start.
