I didn't cope. Got signed off as was hyperventilating at work. Now I don't have that extra stress of work, I'm managing a little better. Or maybe it's because the anniversary is over?

Grief is such an awful thing.

Good that you are feeling a little better. This time of year is so difficult isn't it? Schmaltz and happiness and family love everywhere. Hope now you're through all the 'firsts' it continues to get better.

The first of everything has coincided with a huge dip in my mental health - unsurprising, but people seem surprised that I'm miserable round my birthday, His anniversary, Christmas etc. He died on 20th dec. Earlier in the year when I had a dip, my boss said to me 'you have Christmas to look forward to' - it will be forever tainted by his loss, to think otherwise is pretty dim!

Try not to dwell on what your boss said. Most people are clueless about dates unless closely involved.

Thanks
