My Mum just died.
I'm halfway through a 600 mile journey to get to her. Pushing on as they are putting her in a side room. A family friend was with her holding her hand. I'm not sure I want to see her.
She had a fall and we couldn't get her on the phone so I called a friend to check on her. She'd been there over 24 hours. Organ failure and brain damage.

I don't feel anything. Is this normal?

Oh goat I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I expect you are in shock and unable to process what has just happened. You may want to see her when you get there, you don’t have to de use now. Will the family friend or someone be there for you to meet and be with?

Passingwords · 08/08/2018 02:09

((((Hug too))))

Im sorry for your loss 💐 I have no idea what is normal in this situation but It sounds like you are in shock/numb. Don't put pressure on yourself to feel anything other than what you feel, grief affects everyone differently x

SecretWitch · 08/08/2018 02:14

I’m so sorry. I do think you are in shock. I’m hoping that you have someone you love with you, supporting you. My thoughts are with you.

bettydraper31 · 08/08/2018 02:35

Hugs for you. Please drive safely if you are driving xx

BalloonDinosaur · 08/08/2018 02:42

I'm so sorry for your loss, I do agree with PP that you are probably in shock. Is there anyone else with you?

Please travel safely, do whatever you need to do when you get there. You don't have to see her if you don't want to.

Many virtual hugs, try and look after yourself Thanks

My DP is driving. I've been awake since 5.30 this morning, sods law on my day off. Family friend is staying with her until we arrive.
Just stopped at the service station for coffee and saw the flowers in Smith's. Thought to myself I'd best pick some up for Mum .
Thank you xx
