how long does bleeding last after m/c

Hi, sorry if this is tmi but I had a medical induction of a mmc a week last Monday. The bleeding had tapered off and yesterday am i only had a little bit of brown blood on tissue paper, on the evening though i had really bad cramps and passed a couple of large clots. Today the bleeding has gone back to a tiny bit of brown stuff. Is this normal with a miscarriage? Im just fed up off being stuck in what feels like limbo and want to start ttc as soon as poss. Any help would be great, thanks

For me after a d&c (a missed m/c at 11wks)I think it was about a week for the bleeding to stop. My cycle came back about 6 weeks after the operation.

I had a mmc at 16 weeks, bled heavily for the first week, tailed off to light period type bleeding, then got heavier before finishing after 2 weeks. Didn't have my next period for 5 weeks after that.

I had a missed miscarriage last june i think it was about 3 weeks before the bleeding/spotting stopped then 2 week later AF arrived.

Ten days for me. You only have to worry if it stops, then comes back really heavy with cramps or a bad smell. Sometimes it does seem heavier in the evening if you have been overdoing it.

Are you coping okay? Try to leave yourself some time to grieve before you try again, being tied in painful knots is not conducive to conception - I found this out the hard way. But you will get there in time. I wish you luck.

thanks for the help, i'm actually coping really well. The first few days after the scan i was a complete wreck but now i feel normal (which i find strange). Im feeling fairly positive as i have 2 dds already and have always fallen pregnant quickly (dd1 - 1 night, dd2 4 mths, m/c 1 night) so im hoping things will happen fairly quickly. Also this was my 1st m/c so im hoping that it was just bad luck. the only thing that worries me is that my sister had a m/c and because of the stress of it stpped ovulating she had to have fertility treatment and m/c 3 times before she had her 2nd child. Im hoping this is rare though.

Well wait a bit before trying again then, as you say, conception for you is fairly easy. It was probably one rogue egg or sperm and I'm assuming you and your sister don't share the supplier of the sperm so you've very little chance of experiencing this again.

I was wondering if an infection i had from a splinter in my finger could have caused it. It started getting nasty a few days before the babys heart beat would have stopped. I asked the sho in the hospital if it was infected and she said no but when i saw the doc the next day he said yes took a swab and perscribed me abs the docs has since rang me and asked me to pick up more abs as the swab showed the infection was worse then thye thought.

Hi Spugs, no that's not very probable. You see when you are pregnant your immune system is compromised which leads you to get infections (its to stop your body rejecting the baby which it sees as a foreign body), but the baby is protected from most infections by the membrane sack.

Sadly it was probably just not genetically 100% there and so the body rejects it to save you having a child that is not able to survive outside the womb.
