How soon for a card

A neighbour has died. How soon after is it appropriate to send a sympathy card for the family?

We had a card hand delivered about 6 hours after dad died! I don’t really think there’s a ‘too soon’

I was sent flowers within hours of my DM passing and received a cards any where from 1-2 days to 2 weeks. I agree with PP there’s never a ‘too soon’
