My 17 year old son witnessed one of his close friends mown down by a car and killed last week, he was first on the scene and rang the ambulance etc. How do I help him through this ?. It is an important time of the year with AS level exams etc. He is devastated. has anyone else gone through this with their kids or have any advice please. I am going to contact his college to see if there is any counselling / help available.

Oh goodness, your poor boy Sad

I think you're doing a great thing, contacting college. They should have someone in pastoral care who can help your son, if not help to find him the support he needs

Lots of hugs to you and your boy x

Thank you stressed, I have spoken to his College and they are going to put something in place to give him extra support. At a loss as to what else to do really. I can't get it out of my head and I'm crying all the time but don't want him to see me. I just feel so sad that he has gone through such a traumatic thing at his age.
