Mum's birthday

It would have been my mum's birthday this weekend - my dad mentioned in passing that it falls on the same day of the week that she passed away but we haven't planned anything in particular - should we be marking it in some way or just acknowledging it? I don't really know to broach the subject 😕

Hi Time, I'm not really sure what to suggest but hoping that my post will give yours a little bump x

Thanks for you, OP.

It would have been my DH's birthday this weekend, too. I keep his Facebook page going with occasional posts, and put up a memorable pic of him as a memory. It was a suitably jolly way to remember him, as his Facebook ( all RL too) friends would.

The rest of the time has been unutterably sad.

In the end it has to be what works for you, the grieving ones. Not very helpful of me, I'm afraid.

And to you Echt Flowers my heart goes out to you-I hope you have rl support
I've also posted on Facebook as I had a lovely memory come up from last year when she was recovering from an operation and was doing so well 😕
We're actually going out for lunch & taking my dad as it was my son's birthday in the week & we couldn't get out because of the weather - I'm not sure how my dad will be but I couldn't bear him spending the day alone
