Babie’s ashes

My beautiful boy was stillborn on New Year’s Eve at 32 weeks. We’re having him cremated but have been warned that we may not receive any ashes back. Threads on other forums etc only seem to refer to much smaller babies weighing less than 1lb- our son was 4lb 6oz. Can anyone shed any light? I’ll be devastated not to receive anything back and the funeral director can’t give me an answer. 💙

My dd was 5lb 5 ounce and we got a little casket back with a bag of her ashes in.

I'm sorry for your loss ❤️❤️

I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby boy Thanks

I lost my twins at 23 weeks and we had them cremated together and received their ashes from the funeral director the following day.

I think if you have a hospital cremation with other babies you won't receive any as they are all cremated together, but for a private funeral you should definitely have some x

That’s reassuring, thank you. Sorry for your loss also x

I'm so sorry for your loss.

My dad was much smaller than that when she was cremated, and we received ashes.

I think the warning that there might not be any are standard in the case of babies.

DD was less than that and we got ashes.

Sorry for your loss Flowers

So very sorry for your loss. Our little boy was born at 24 weeks but only survived a few hours. We also had him cremated and were told there was unlikely to be any ashes. I was devastated but then we got a phone call saying there were some to collect. After them saying there may not be any, the little bag is as big as the palm of my hand. Our beautiful boy was 1lb 9oz. You should get his ashes back Thanks.

I was 20 weeks when we lost our DD, like yourself we were warned there may be no ashes but thankfully there were.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Thanks

So sorry to hear about your loss.

My DS2 was stillborn at 36.5 weeks and we got a little urn with his ashes in. I've never opened it as it's sealed, but there's certainly ashes in there. We decided not to scatter them in the end, and just keep them for us to remember him.
