Does a D & C / ERPC help you to conceive?

I had a miscarriage about 3 months ago and am trying to conceive. As I had a complete miscarriage they didnot do a D & C which I was pleased about at the time. I have since had 3 periods and really hoped I would be pg by now. Although it took a while to conceive both this time and with dd1 who is now 2, you do hear all these stories about people who conceive after a m/c. I wonder if the d & c helps as people say it 'clears you out'

I had a D & C following my m/c. Due to a rare condition it left me infertile, and I needed further surgery and a years hormone treatment to sort it out.

Not to worry those who have had a d & c......this was a very rare condition, but it didn't amke me more fertile.

I tried for four years to get pregnant then miscarried - had a D&C and it took me nearly a year to conceive again. Worth the wait though as it was twins!

Three months isn't long nellyk - I think your body needs time to settle down again.

There is no evidence that a D&C will help as far as I am aware. It is actually thought to be best to avoid D&C if possible. Since you have had 3 periods you will have been well and truly 'cleared out' naturally. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to get pregnant again. Took me 8 months second time around. Try not to stress over it too much (easier said than done). I know.
