Son's mother

DS15's mother died suddenly yesterday. We don't know why yet. She lived abroad for the past few years, DS came back to live with me 2 years ago.

Just looking for any help or guidance in how to help him deal with this. I think he will need counselling, but now might be too soon. He went to school today as he wanted to try to carry on as normal. I suspect it's not really hit him yet.

This is terribly sad for your DS. And a difficult time for you too.

I don't have any experience of helping a child deal with loss. The only advice I have is to ensure your DS knows that you are there for him and that he can talk to you about his mum to you.

Hopefully someone else will be along soon with more specific advice
