No period after mc

I had a D&C for a mc on October 23rd. Am waiting for first period as desperate to start trying again but 45 days seems a long time. How long did any of you have to wait? Used ovulation sticks to get pregnant first time, any advice on how to use them with such a messed up cycle? Please help!

Hi Bezzy. I am very sorry to hear about your loss.
It can take quite some time for your period to return. The officially normal time is 4-6 weeks but it can take longer. In most cases it returns naturally. However, there is a small chance that the ERPC wasn't complete which is what happened to me. I had my first ERPC on Sep 22nd and still have no period. I still had positive pg tests 6 weeks after the 1st ERPC and a scan showed that not all material was removed. I had my 2nd ERPC 3 weeks ago and have had no period yet (and a scan show that I won't have on anytime soon). The other possibility is that you could be pg again. Is that possible? If I were you, I would take a pg-test and then see a GP. Most likely yours will return very soon, but I thought I should let you know about my story, since I would have wished i would have known about this possibility. let me know how you are getting on.

I had my Erpc on March 31st and got af the day before we moved on 9th May.

hi there, i am very sorry for your loss. I had a m/c in may and it took 8.5 weeks for my next period to arrive.

It was just over 12 weeks before I had a period following my ERPC, and when it came it was so painful I really thought something was wrong and I was going to go to the walk in NHS centre. I then had a 35 day cycle when I am normally around 28, so I think it takes a long time for your body to settle down.

I saw my GP for something unrelated approx 17 weeks after ERPC and she asked me if my periods had restarted yet, so I am assuming some can take a long time.
