Death Certificates

Someone has told me it is possible to get free certified copies of death certificates from a Jobcentre Plus or somewhere like that - I can't find any information on the internet and wondered if anyone else has further information on this?

You can order death certificates from the General Register Office, but they cost nearly PS10.

GRO Certificate ordering service

Hard to imagine anywhere issuing them free. The JobCentre simply doesn't have certificates - they'd have to go to the GRO for anything like that.

For some reason, the pound-sign has come out as "PS".

Anyway, I've just checked and it's 9.25 pounds for standard service, posted to the UK.
