Sorry but just had to start a new thread because I despirately wanted to get hold of you!!!!!!

Firstly I am so so so very sorry nicola63.....but are stories are so similar we may have something for eachother!

I too am almost 43 (in 4 weeks time) and I too have had 3 miscarriages. The last one was at 9 weeks and I too had scans that were measuring too small!

I had an ERPC on 18/8/06 (2 months ago)and we are trying again....so so despirate but trying not to be as I am 43! We have no children.
Had a period 5 weeks after my ERPC and now I am having my second (built my hopes up that I would get pregnant straight away as there are so many stories on here about people who do)

I am just so down and upset with it all.

Hi jeddah. Yes we do sound like we have both been through a lot of the very same stuff. I had to have a repeat ERPC last Friday as I had clots and infection going on, so still bleeding and feeling crap. Finding it hard to think very far ahead.

With what has happened, we do not want to rush into getting pg again straight away (although of course like you I feel the other imperative too, that of no time left really, so it is a contstant menatl dilemma). I just know that physically and mentally I really just can't do exactly the same thing for a fourth time. I am waiting for the chromosome results on this last embryo and then we have to think. My obstetrician is massively keen for us to go for preimplantation genetic diagnosis. We have to think about this. If there was nothing wrong with this last embryo (unfortunately we don't have chromosome results on the previous embryo as the lab failed to be able to culture for some reason) then I am not sure there is any point in spending thousands of pounds going through ivf and implanting a chromosomally perfect embryo, only to have it fail again at the same stage for unspecified reasons, as the last three have.

I have promised myself and DH that we will take things easy and think in a calm way, and right now I am still feeling ill and not in a state to make decisions. I am taking the next few days off work as I feel I need a rest. Like you, I feel upset and down, I really sympathise.

Have you had all the tests for recurrent m/c? (Antiphospholipid antibodies etc). I have and nothing abnormal has been found apart from slight hypothyroidism, now treated. Despite no real indication I went onto heparin and aspirin in the last pg anyway, just in case. It made no difference, the outcome was just the same as the previous two. It really makes one feel helpless doesn't it?

Keep in touch, we have many issues the same and although many others on here are lovely and helpful, they don't all share the same problems.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I've been wondering how you're doing Nicola.

I don't know if you remember me from the TTC after mc thread.

I'm so sorry to read that you are still having trouble. when I had my Mc in Feb, I bled for 8 weeks before they finally rescanned me and told me I had retained products and had to have a 2nd ERCP. I too felt absolutely awful after the 2nd one, it seemed to hurt so much more. But it all cleared up pretty quickly afterwards, so at least I could start to get on with my life again.

I do so hope you are feeling better soon and life shows you some promise and hope.

{{BIG HUGS}} Take care and look after yourself

with love

Nice to hear from you again babyfettle. The doctor called today with the microbiology results following the repeat ERPC on Friday, yes there was infection, and no it was not responsive to the antibiotic he had given me, so I have changed to a different antibiotic. He said it is not surprising I am feeling so yuck ith the infection that I have. Hope this now all clears it up and allows me to move on.

Sorry to hear that you had similar problems. I am glad it cleared up quickly once the second procedure was done. Hope it's the same for me. Thanks for the hugs.

hello Nicola - and Babyfettle -

Nicola, I was wondering how you are doing too, not much to say except wishing you well.
