Book for a bereaved child

My friend's ex husband has sadly died recently. I was thinking of buying a book for her three year old child, does anyone think this would be a good idea or would it be a bit intrusive? If it is a good idea can anyone recommend a book?

When Dinosaurs Die, by Laurie Kransy Brown is a very lovely book, and totally age appropriate.
