AF after M/C

I m/c four weeks ago. I have debated whether to wait the recommended three months b4 trying again but considering this is my second m/c in 3 months and I heard horror stories about people who go preg b4 they waited three months and lost the baby at 24 weeks + I've decided to wait. I don't think I could take losing three babies in one year.
I normally have a 28 day cycle which would mean AF would be here tomorrow. Had period pains last week but no period then and more discharge than I normally have prior to a period. We did have unprotected sex twice this month but each time was NOWHERE near ovulation dates. Not feeling any pains at the moment which considering I'm due tomorrow is slightly concerning me.
How long after other people's miscarriages did their first period arrive? Is is likely to be late?

Nov 02 M/C at 9 wks,
Dec 02 succesful conception.
July 05 M/C at 6wks (fell over)
Feb 06 M/C at 10 weeks
Apr 06 succesful conception (so far - am 30 wks this Sat).

All 3 miscarriages were complete and required no medical intervention, which leads me to belive they were not meant to be. With my first and third M/C I was aware of problems before it actually happened, and found myself wanting it to just happen so I could get back to normal, have a period and start trying again - Only after my first M/C did someone recommend - not insist I wait 3 months, which I cose to ignore.

However, you must do what you feel is right. In each case I could'nt wait to start trying again as I was desperate for my babies - as I am sure you are. But no matter what stage of conception, pregnancy or motherhood you are at you will always hear horror stories. Just remember you normally only hear about the bad stuff because it is bad - when you compare it with the good stuff it's normally like a 1 in a hundred thousand.

I can't tell you what to do, but I wish you lots of luck and success in whatever you choose.

On reading your experience I am tempted to start again b4 three months Redlorry.
AF arrived this morning with avengence. So I need to decide in the next two weeks.
The first m/c was the worst possible. I was 8 weeks and it was anembrionic. I took the medical route but something got stuck and I bled a lot and needed a transfusion. A week later I was taken for emergency theatre as the bleeding started again. The period afterwards was strange and I got pregnant again on the next cycle which I lost at 6 weeks.This time it was complete and needed no intervention. If I conceived again and lost it again I don't think I could take all the "Maybe it was too soon..." comments. I do want another baby as soon as I can but I am scared I'll lose it again. That fear may never go tho.

typhoonsmum, I have just had 2 miscarriages in 2 consecutive cycles. The first one started happening naturally and was 'finished off' with a d&c, the second one was anembryonic and only picked up at 7 weeks (there was masses and masses of hormone etc, sac right size) because I had a ridiculously tiny spot of blood and a 'feeling' something wasn't right. I did get some 'maybe it was too soon' comments at the hospital, but I am convinced (and my gynaecologist agrees) that they were just terrible coincidences that had nothing to do with each other. I'm waiting for my next period (am also having blood tests to check the hcg is gone) and after that will try again. Am actively avoiding getting pg this cycle but only because I would like my body to have a break from hormones shooting everywhere.

Ok I have a plan. I'll try again this month and not say anything to anyone so I don't get the comments. i'll let u know

Typhoonsmum, I found this site really helpful after my mc - there is a section in it about trying again (there's a link on the left hand side of the home page).

According to that site, there's no physical reason to wait 3 months, and even waiting for one period is more about getting an accurate date for the next pg.

But it does warn about waiting long enough to get over the mc emotionally.

I felt very enthusiastic about getting pg again at first, but after a couple of months I was knew I wasn't quite ready yet, especially in terms of facing the risk of having another mc (even though that risk is still small).

But you're the one who knows best what's right for you.

That site is REALLY good. It has answered a lot of questions. I will try again this cycle and just try and be brave if I conceive.
