23-yr-old dies suddenly out of the blue

She was between my DDs in age - they had mutual friends - nobody knows yet why she died. DD1 has been told that she was at home, her family and boyfriend were in the house, she went off to make a cup of tea, her boyfriend wondered why she'd been gone so long and they found her - gone.

There was an article in the Sunday Times Magazine about sudden adult death syndrome. Really awful.

Oh, Jan

How shocking and tragic - in answer to your question, I have no idea

So, so sad.

As parents, we worry about the 'fragile years', when they are so tiny and vulnerable. I can't imagine how her family are feeling.

How desperately sad and dreadful for her poor family.

It's truly unbelievable, isn't it?

I wondered about SADS - the post-mortem has found nothing apparently - but when they get to that age you worry about car crashes, or drunken idiots when they're out late at night, but that's about all!

To think of your child dying silently downstairs in your house without you even knowing until it's too late
