I am in a social club, have been for about 18 months one of the members lost their partner in a road accident and although I consider them good friends I have never visited them at their home. We were asked in the announcement to allow him time to grieve so I have just sent a message saying I am so sorry this has happened and I honestly do not know what else to say but I wanted him to know I cared I also sent a card. Should I visit him or am I doing the right thing staying away, I am unsure what the protocol is in these situations. I don't want him to think I am not bothered about him but I also don't want to impose.
