What can I do

My friend lost her little boy this time last year (it will be a year next week)He was nearly three and just after his 2nd birthday they found he had a brain tumour. They tried to treat it but there was nothing they could do.

I want to let her know Im thinking of her, but dont want to end up a bag of jelly, I know I will if i see her and try to talk about it. We talk and see each other all the time but I know next weeks gonna be tough.

Help me think of something nice to say or do for her and her DH - not a big gesture just so she knows im thinking and remembering.

send her a bunch of flowers
or buy her a plant or garden ornament example a fairy or angel for her garden
or even sometimes just a hug can mean more than words iykwim

don't be afraid to cry with her - it might be helpful to both of you - and it will show her that you really care. Don't avoid her next week for fear of upsetting her.

You know it will be tough for everyone - but there is no getting round that - just be there for them. And accept you are grieving too - albeit not in the same league as them.
