Any orphans out there?

When my mum passed away my sisters said "we are orphans now" Sounded strange but just wondered if there are any others who have lost both parents out there and how old were you when you lost your last parent.

I lost my Mum and Dad in an accident in 2010 when I was 17 and still at school Sad

OMG Miss I feel so bad for feeling sorry for myself. I am twice your age.

my mum died when I was 15, my dad when I was 26. I don't consider myself an orphan.

miss :( :(

I don't feel confortable describing myself as one, it's a term I associate with a child.
I was 35 when I lost my Dad, 41 when I lost my Mum. Sad

Oh missdis, I'm so sad to read that.

My mum died very suddenly when I was 18, and my dad died of a massive stroke when I was 25. I'm 41 now and I miss them every day, especially since having my DD.

I was in the back seat of the car and survived. My Mum and Dad were in the front seat and didn't. Just blind chance.

Missdis, I just read your story on another thread.

You sound like an amazing person. I know you've had a lot to cope with and have felt like you're struggling (who wouldn't?) but to have got through the last few months as you have and be thinking about getting into university in the autumn...I'm bowled over with admiration for you.

I really hope you get on to the course you want to do, and that you find that things get easier for you. Just remind yourself what a feat of survival you've achieved and be easy on yourself. Take care petal xxx
