Friend has died suddenly

A very good friend of my mum, and by extension, my friend has died suddenly.

He was an amazing mine of knowledge in some areas and he was really, really funny.

Mum had been friends with him for nearly 30 years: she is really upset.

I am just posting in his memory - not expecting any responses!

RIP NW X

Oh MotherM I'm sorry to hear this.

Would you like to tell us how he was so funny and special?

Smile

Sorry. Sad

It's good that he's got good friends to remember him.

nickschick · 27/03/2011 23:21

Sad x

ChaosTrulyReigns · 27/03/2011 23:21

Sorry that smile looked wrong Sad - I think I was trying to encourage good memories of him.

Thanks, I am surprised and touched by your responses!

He was an "eccentric", I suppose and very deadpan in his humour. He loved blues and hated colour TV. Whenever I went to see him, he would only ever be watching his tiny b&w set. He said he preferred it!

He was a bachelor and he swore a lot. Not sure why I am saying this.

My mum is devastated at his passing. I am in shock.

He was lovely. :'(

That's kind of you Mother.

He sounds like a bit of an eccentric.

If we're put on this earth to touch people's lives, then his objective has been achieved - sounds like he has given you and your mum some fond memories.

Yes, chaos, since my darling grandma died in 2009, I have felt that death is pointless, and all deaths since then (there seems to have been A LOT) must have a reason.

I kinda believe this, too...

Thanks for your thoughts :)

Mum is really upset and feels quite lost. I just feel really sad.

I've offered to do the food for his wake (I would be honoured) and his sister has accepted. Glad to know that I can do something.

Thanks again.
