I'm posting this on behalf of a friend.

His ex wife has just been murdederd. His 5yr old son is staying with him at the moment and has not been told, but he needs to be told tomorrow.

We have contcated a charity, but they cannot be here until Monday.

His father needs some help on this. If anyone has any online resources, please can they email them to me at [email protected]

For those who wish to express the sorrows, I'd ask that they do so here on this site and allow the email to be used for the resources.

He's s good friend, but I need some help to help him.

Bill

Bill, how horrific, I am so sorry. Here are some links:

www.childbereavement.org.uk/

I think it would be a good idea to seek some immediate professional advice on breaking the news to his son given the circumstances. I think these organisations have phonelines.

Could Samaritans or Childline also help? They are at:

or

Your friend may need Samaritans himself.

So sorry to hear this and for your friends loss. That poor little boy.

Sorry I don't have practical advice to offer but I'm sure other people will. You sound like a good friend.

I second Winstons Wish.

Sorry to hear about your friend.

exexpat · 22/01/2011 09:32

Winston's wish is good. But there should also be a police family liaison officer involved if there has been a murder (if it's in the UK?) and they should also be a source of help.
