My lovely mum passed away on Oct 28 last year, however after a short but hard fight was admitted to our local hospice on 24 Sept 2009. This is tomorrow and is also my dads birthday so we are ( especially him) are going to find it hard thinking along the lines of this time last year etc.... As it is birthday (and worst day) do any of you have anything i could put in his card??? Presents i feel are not appropriate if you know wot i mean i know he feels the same. Maybe just want something to let him know how much i love him and need him even though mum is not here.

Sorry for your loss Jenna.

Could you mark his birthday in another way rather than a present? A lunch, or go to a place your mum would have liked or knew well.

Keep the card simple and just express your love for him in it.

(my mum married on her birthday and was promptly widowed 3 months later, so her birthday has been a difficult reminder too).

Sorry for your loss Jenna.
I would probably write something like 'thinking about you on your birthday, with love' rather than the 'happy birthday' sort of thing, which obviously it won't be.

Scurry that is really sad for your mum.
