DS is incredibly strong and recently his behaviour has got out of hand to the point that i'm covered in bruises from him.

He will get frustrated when feeding or trying to go to sleep for instance and will pinch or hit me on my chest or arm. He will arch his back and kick and try to use his feet to push off my thigh to try and get up.

I appreciate that as a 6 month old there is a limited amount i can do to change this and that he's not aware that it's wrong or even that it hurts me but it's really getting me down and i'm just finding it all to much with him. I'm also worried that if i dont try to show him that it's not the right behaviour from an early age i will end up with a boy who is still doing it when he's older.

All you can do is restrain him when he's feeding and put him down for going to sleep. He's strong but he's still only a few months old.... you're stronger. You won't hurt him.

Agree that restraining is all you can do. Have you tried swaddling?

I wouldn't worry about showing him it's not the right behaviour. I don't think these sort of movements are very much under their control, especially when tired/frustrated.

I do sympathise, though. My 6 month old has nearly dislocated my jaw a couple of times, headbutting me sideways when he's been wriggling on my shoulder while burping him after a feed.
