At what age can I go from pram to pushchair?

DD is 16w and seems to be getting fed up of her pram. She's fine for a while, or if she's asleep, but eventually starts crying. She's very alert and likes to be able to see what's going on around her, so I wondered if the pushchair might be better. My Mum thinks it's too early, as she can't yet sit unaided. She holds her head up very well though. Thoughts from experienced mums?

can the pushchair be reclined at all? Or can you use a sling occasionally? We used a travel system until DS was 19 weeks, but that's because our pushchair was rubbish, and I liked having him facing me in the car seat. If it's just a cheapo pushchair that cannot be reclined at all, I think the recommendation is 6 months, otherwise, from 3 months is normally fine!

It does recline (iCandy cherry FWIW) and can be parent- or forward-facing, so I'd have her facing me while she's still little.

Try it out, see if she likes it! and be prepared for her to look very tiny when you first put her in the pushchair DS is 9 months now, and looks like a giant in his car seat, but fits his pushchair (britax vigour) nicely!
