They look puffier, how strange. They used to be flat! The middle bit goes in and the outer bit is definitley 'puffy'

I had noticed this last 2 weeks that she has filled out a bit, thicker set somehow.

Is this the onset of puberty then??!

Sounds like! Don't think it means she'll start her period at any moment. It could still be a few years off, or not! Hope it is a few years off for her sake. I remember comparing nipples with my friend while changing for p.e at that age. My period didn't start till I was 12.

oh my god,my baby!!!!

she has had a serious growth surge recently, and has had ( well documented on here!) a tough time with a hip problem, which the growth surge is not helping.

she's quite slim little tall girl. but she's got fuller on her thighs and tihcker round the waist. it's quite exciting really, iyswim, as after they get to about 3 not much happens body wise does it.!!!

pc my dd is nearly 11 and has had those breast buds for at least a couple of years, maybe 3. She did get a bit tubby at around age 7 and still is...
Nothing else has changed for her body-wise so hopefully proper puberty will still be a long way off for your dd, too.

piratecat · 25/06/2010 11:03

it's weird isn't it, i still think she's 4 lol!!

DD had puffy nipples at just under 8 1/2 now 8 months later, she looks like she has extra weight round her chest with darker larger nipples then before.

She also getting spots on her nose, greasy hair, slight BO and lastly a few pubic hairs.

DD has put on a lot of weight (was skinny and now about right) so I'm thinking she's going to have a growth spur soon. I dread this as very few of her clothes have room for growth what with her now filling them.

muggglewump · 25/06/2010 21:56

My DD is 8 and you could be describing her at the moment, I still think of her as my little girl too.

Coca · 25/06/2010 21:58

DD (8) announced that her boobs were growing today and blimey they are! Scary stuff. Just going from flat to sticky out nipples no actual boobs yet.

piratecat · 25/06/2010 22:27

oh i am glad to see your posts, I feel so ridiculously emotional about this new phase, like i thought she was going to be a little girl forever!

omg! my dd is 15 and not so far developed as some on here

lexcat · 26/06/2010 07:33

I know the feeling PC their still so young. It took me some time to get us to the idea. What is more scary is talking to my friend who's dd is 11 (12 in Oct). Friends dd is now very much a young woman (except for no periods yet) she start with the first signs age 8.

piratecat · 26/06/2010 09:44

in a way it's quite refreshing to have a new development, teeth were the last new topic as far as i remember.!

My DD is 8 she has one puffy nipple which she relished showing her dad to his and ..tufty pubes etc...I cant believe it! seems she was just born the other day!

piratecat · 26/06/2010 09:58

aw, just the one! no pubes here yet i'd prob pass out!

OP posts:
Mumcentreplus · 26/06/2010 10:09

She's not got many pubes, but they are surprisingly long.....she was a bit worried about the one boob thing...but I've told her the other one will catch up soon enough
