How old was your DC when they began sleeping in a bed?

My DS is 2.2 and will be 2.6 when he goes into his new room and hopefully bed. At the moment he is still in a cot and moves loads in his sleep. I'm not really worried about him falling out, as the bed we've chosen is so low and has sides. He also doesn't use bedding at the moment so moving on to a duvet and pillow is concerning me slightly. How did your DC's fare with the change? Thank you

Thought I'd mention we're only doing it to accommodate new arrival in september. Not sure why I said gobag as he's a really good sleeper . Quite a range here I notice though, so thanks for that

DS was 23 mo when he went into his big bed. He wasn't sure at first but got used it after the first couple of nights.

2.4, no problems was scared of her falling out but has never happened yet, good luck!

DD was coming up for 2 when we made her cotbed into the little bed. Like tryingtobemarypoppins, we also had a normal size single quilt that we laid on her bed landscape and then tuck the ends under the mattress. It has worked a treat for DD and she too was also a wriggler in a grobag. We dont have a bed guard either as her cotbed is really low to the floor and she has only ever once fallen out of her bed and that was because her pillow was hanging over the edge of her bed and she tried to lay on it!!

DS was 19 months - just a few weeks ago. He's taken to it pretty well, but it does make it easier for him to get up with the dawn, so it's 4.45am starts for us at the moment!

Daytime naps are a pain as well, but in general I'm really glad we did it.
