Suddenly hating the bath

Ds has for the last 2 weeks screamed blue murder when I try to put him in the bath. He refuses to sit down and just tries to climb out. Think he might be associating it with bed time as he isn't too keen on going to sleep, otherwise there have been no other instances that I can think of that would have put him off. He happily went swimming the other day and had a shower afterwards.

Any ideas?

How old? Is it daily? Maybe he's just BORED (we do not bathe them daily).

I wonder if it's a temp thing, is he getting too hot/cold before during or after?

My DD went through this when she was about 18 months old. We started bathing her in the kitchen sink when she was actually dirty and just left her on the days she could go without. It broke the cycle, oh and she had a bath with her cousins/friends and that got her back into being OK with it.

He's almost 15months, we only bath him every other day otherwise his skin gets really dry. He hates sharing his bath, that makes him scream too! (Otherwise he's a very happy chap) I wouldn't mind but I really need to wash his hair as it's got about a weeks worth of food in it but don't want to put him off further. Guess I might have to take him swimming towashallthecrapout-- to further desensitise him

Aaah my DS did this for about a month at this age and I couldn't figure it out why as he'd loved his bath up to then. I just stopped doing them for a while as it wasn't worth the hysterics and him being so miserable before bedtime. Broke the cycle when I went at my Mums and he had his usual bath there, he started having them at home again. Good luck x

Progress tonight, kitchen sink was full of washing up otherwise was going to give that a go
Put him in the bath fully clothed with no water in it but with all his toys and then gradually took his clothes off and sprayed him lightly with the shower hose. He still stood up and wouldn't sit down but no screaming so a step forward I think!

dd was like this for a few months - overnight she developed a mad terror of the bath, one day just as suddenly she was fine and now would happily spend all day in there.
