She never really went through the separation anxiety stage- she did prefer me for a while to anyone else, but it never got too difficult for dp to care for her.

She is very curious etc and not very shy with others. I noticed today and a couple of times before that when we went outside she wanted me to carry her and didn't want to walk too much on her own.She walks fine at home.

Doesn't seem to me like she's coming down with something.

Some sort of fear of the big scary world?

DS, who just turned 15 mos, has been exactly like this for the past week. For the past couple of months, ever since he started walking, he's loved walking home from nursery - now I put him down and he howls and demands to be picked up. Same thing in our garden - put him on the lawn and he will stand stock still, throw his arms up and get very fussed if not retrieved ASAP.

I am putting it down to a phase. Kind of like eating sand. Or flinging open the doors of the china cabinet. I hope.
