Nailbiting in 15 month old- should I be doing something?

My 15 month old DD has started biting her nails for the last few weeks. Her 3 yr old brother does it too (since age 2) and she does copy anything he does.

Is this common? Noone I talk to has heard of nailbiting so early and I dont know whether to worry/ relax and go with it or try and stop it- but how?

Any thoughts/suggestions welcome!

DS started biting his nails at 18 months - 2 weeks after the dummy went! At first I just told him he would make his fingers sore or it would make his tummy poorly etc. TBH it didnt work but he is now 2.7 and he seems to be too busy to bite them these days.
I've never really been one to force issues with him - just a bit of gentle encouragement/ reminders or totally ignoring etc. It may have paid off now though - albeit a year on!

I am having a bit of a job getting him to let me cut them though!
