Alternative for dummy?

Hi. I took my DD's dummy away about 2 months ago, just before she turned 2, as it was affecting her speech. She coped really well, apart from when she was over tired.

We now have builders in the house, and she is hardly getting any daytime sleep, and she is beside herself with tiredness. She is finding it really hard to settle and it is obvious she wants something in her mouth. She is also drinking far too much milk from a bottle I guess because she likes the teat in her mouth.

She is sucking her fingers a bit, but can anyone think of something that she could safely suck or chew on? I feel it woiuld be a real backwards step to give her a dummy again, but she does seem to need something!

Thanks
