sleep question

My little boy is going through the great four month sleep "regression" and has gone from waking once a night to twice, then gettin up ridiculously early. That's fine, I am not bothered about getting up with him. What I am wondering is, is he getting enough sleep? He probably gets around 10 hours all up at night, and every day he takes thre naps lasting between an hour and an hour and a half. He doesnt seem too grumpy but it is said that babies of his age should get 16 hours, and he is getting arund 13.
He is also off his food a bit, seems to eat less at each feed but want to be fed more often (he is on formula). Is this a usual part of the four month stuff???

totally normal, sounds to me everthing sounds about right, my little girl from about four months (now 8months) used to sleep from about 7/8 till 5 or 6.

i still put her down about half 9 for a hour and then she sleeps around 2 to 3 hours in the afternoon.

she also starting wanting less milk, she became less and less interested in it so by about 17/18 weeks (and by the way i know the midwife will tell you not to but..
) i started feeding her a little baby porridge in the morning and then after a few days went on and gave her alittle baby rice at lunch, and she seemed happier and more content, as she always seemed hungry before but didnt take much milk. carry on what your doing and remember all babies are different!

sounds to be your doing a grand job and your little un will let you know when they want to sleep, and when they dont just go with the flow! xx

Thanks, Glasgowmandy! I was wondering if he might need baby rice or something soon - he is a big boy, and also seems hungry but a bit bored of milk.... Will perhaps think of starting in a week or two.

probably does, maybe just a hungry baby! whatever you do dont use hungry baby milk, made dd terribly constipated, just start on rice and maybe sum pureed fruit and veg xx

We just gave DS as much formula stage 1 C&G as he wanted and ignored the advice on the packet. He always took about 250mls more than the 'recommended dose' and has always been in the 90th centile for height and weight.
He is 1-yr now and still eats for England.
I started weaning around 6-months.
