My ds acts very silly&doesnt listen properly. He goes cricket sessions after school&when I picked him up@the end I noticed he was not joining in&was sat alone putting his t shirt over his head! He had also been sucking&chewing it so it was all soggy&stretched@the front! He said he told the instructers he didn't want2play. I saw him run over&shout "Im playing now"
he was ignored and it was all finished anyway. I coul tell that they probably thought that he is one of those annoying children that always wants attention and will be very loud and silly things to try & get it!
This sounds awful but I'm not keen on kids that always want constant attention and he is getting on my nerves! I love him dearly & he is my world! Please tell me this will pass and what's the best way of dealing with it?

It does sound rather like my 6yo DD - who seems to tune out adult voices most of the time.

You could try watching this - I found it had some useful ideas.

Lots of children will try that sort of attention seeking but most stop because adults ignore it. That sounds like what his instructors are doing and hopefully you are too. I think if that carries on he'll realise and get over it.

Children try all sorts of behaviours and only carry on with the ones which are successful for them.
