4 Yr old not going to bed

My DS2 aged 4 has for past 3 weeks been a nightmare going to bed. I have tried putting him to bed at different times and each time he keeps getting up and coming back down stairs.

I take him back up tried the super nanny way of not talking just putting him back to bed, bribing him with gummie bears for the next day starting at 10 losing one each time he comes out of the room, shouting screaming and then DH losing his temper and scmaking his leg.

I am begining to lose my sense of humour in all of this and need any advice.

Please can anyone help me??

try sitting in his room, with your back to him, but tell him if he gets up you will have to leave the room. Gradually, over a week or so, sit closer and closer to door, til you are in landing / your bedroom / anywhere upstairs.

Do you have a routine? Bath / story / bed etc

Yes normally have bath then I read to him, he then wants to take a book to bed which I said is fine as I thought he may stay in bed with his book and then just drop off to sleep. I will try this one. Thanks
