How many teeth did your DC have at 18 months?

DS2 got his first tooth at 13 months (5 appeared all at once), a 6th one followed a couple of months later....and nothing since.

Should I be worried or have others got children who are 'late' teethers? DS1 had all his teeth by the time he was 2 so probably had at about 13-14 at this age.

(Tbh, it fits perfectly with the rest of his development...late crawler, late walker, late talker - my mum often jokes that if I hadn't had an elective c-section, he would never have come out )

DS1 didnt get his first tooth till 13 months - had 4 at 18 months - and all of them by 2 and a half. Wouldnt worry about it. He copied with teething miles better than his little brother who at 16 months has 8 and a bit teeth and is a bugger when teething...

Dd4 is 19mo and has 11, she has taken much longer to get her teeth than her sisters did, dp theorises that's it's because she is the only one I've breastfed, I think his theory is a bit crap

dinkystinky · 04/06/2010 21:20

4andnotout - your DP's theory is rubbish. DS1 was bf till 7 months then mixed fed - and a v late teether (as I was apparently). Same for DS2 who got his first teeth at 7 months (just as I was going to work, excellent timing).

Thanks for the information

I have been very lucky in that DS1 was not troubled by his teeth at all and DS2 seems to be exactly the same!

ds had 10 iirc

dd had 1. she is 6 and there is no sign of her losing any milk teeth yet.

notsotinybaba · 04/06/2010 21:45

DD is 17 months and is just getting her 1st tooth! I thought they would all come through really quickly but there are no signs of any others and this one has been breaking through for weeks. Nothing to worry about

spotofcheerfulness · 04/06/2010 21:48

DS has five

notapizzaeater · 04/06/2010 21:51

None till 13 months then 5 overnight. Now 7.9 and none of his baby teeth have come out - hes just had to have 4 out under GA. His bottom teeth are threw but no sign of his adult top teeth yet

CokeFan · 04/06/2010 21:51

DD is 21 months and has 10. Last ones came through months ago so we must be due some more.

Is there some kind of reverse tooth fairy where we can leave money out and get teeth delivered?

Ceebee74 · 05/06/2010 19:51

Thanks again - glad that DS2 is not alone in not having many teeth at 18 mo.

However, there does seem to be a theme about late teethers not losing their baby teeth - is that true???

Not sure - my LO is coeliac and it is linked with teeth being late. Was diagonosed last Oct but doc thinks he has been coeliac always
