Is there a genuine developmental reason for the hideous phases they go through?

I have found 3 much easier than 2 - I think we really hit rock bottom at around 2.5 -3 and things have been getting easier ever since.

and at 5 and 6 and 7 not sure when they ever stop really!!!!! but they do obviously become easier to reason with as they get older.

Am so glad Ive read this. Ds was never that bad for tantrums at 2 but since he hit about 3y3m he has been horrendous at times, I dont know whether its coupled iwth me being pregnant though. Everything I do/say/think is 'so booooooooooring' or 'unfair' and he huffs and puffs like Kevin the teenager!!

Fairylights I hope it lasts for you. Ds was a horror for a month and then for 3 weeks he was sweetness and light, I wont tell you how he has been the past week or so!

3 is proving very difficult for us!!!!!!!
He can be lovely usually but his frustration tantrums are getting worse and he is scratching other kids which is so upsetting, also having trouble potty training him. Just hope life gets easier soon!!!!
