DS, 2.7, hands down nappy ALL the time - anyone dealt with this?

Or is it just the start of the male lifelong obsession with genitalia?!!

Had a bout of nappy rash recently which is now gone, but apparently the itching habit or touching habit still remains.

Ignore, just a phase? Or deal? Feels like I'm constantly asking him to take his hands out of his pants and it's become a game.

Wow - I'm amazed he didn't start this earlier - DS1 started at about 1 year and so did DS2!

Basically yes, it is the start of a lifelong obsession. You'll never get that hand out of there now!!

DS1 had a phase of running around with both hands down his nappy, which only stopped when he fell over in the garden and couldn't steady himself 'cos his hands were stuck - he fell over and grazed his face! From then on, he reduced it down to 1 hand at a time.

He is nearly 7 now and in the mornings when I wake him up, he often has his hand down his pj shorts.

He also spent a christmas carol session at nursery one year with his hand down his shorts the ENTIRE time, in the front row, with all the other parents watching. Oh, the shame....

Is he ready to potty train?? My ds did this at about 20mths and on his 2nd birthday announced he didn't need nappies now he's a big boy! When he wore pants he didn't do it.

Does fiddle from outside tho I do think thats a lifelong obsession!!

Kirsty, LOL, that is hilarious. Mainly I just wanted to know that I am not alone!

mumbar I did wonder whether that is one of the signs. I've had a horrendous time getting him to bed this evening and one of the things he did was completely take off his nappy which he has never done before ever. I'm surprised this has never occurred to him before actually! we're intending to potty train him when we go on holiday next week, when I will have an uninterrupted week to get into the habit. Lord knows I am fed up of the nappy thing...

Ah, DS did this constantly from about 1yr everywhere and anywhere. People used to comment and it was utterly embarrassing.

Now he's 3.5 and it's just the normal male obsession. He told me the other day he could make his willy stand up...he seemed disappointed that I wasn't utterly overawed by his talents.
