Hi
I'm trying not to freak out but I'm feeling quite uneasy about last night's events. We were at a gathering of friends with their children of various ages and DD3.5yo was playing with my friend's DS4 quite happily.

They both got up and went to the house, DD said she was going with her friend to the toilet. After a few minutes I went after them to find DD with her pants down lying on the floor and DS looking at her. I told her to pull up her pants and left them returning a few minutes later only to find the same scene!

What was going on? I did ask them but got no response.

They're just curious and want to learn the differences between there bodies I'd say.
I know its important that she feels relaxed and uninhibbited about bodies but I understand you'd also rather she was a bit more private about it. Its difficult to know wheter you need to do anything differently. You don't want to make a big thing of it and she'll learn to be more private about her body as time goes on I think.

Completely normal.. my 4 year-old DD has taken to comparing with her little friends at school.. I think it's only now that she really gets how different it is to what her brother has..

I took advantage the other night when she was in the bath to tell her that it was private for her and she shouldn't show it to anybody else..

Please don't think more into it..

Just remembered my mum tells me that when she was 4 or 5 she and her friends had a tent in the garden where they held BBC meetings! Bare bottom club that is! They'd all pull their pants down and have a look at each others bits.

Goodness I feel a bit silly, but relieved. Its hard to know, I was thinking perhaps I should not have been sharp with her.
I asked DD again today what she was doing and she said playing doctors and nurses which we play at home with her pulling up her top for us to try her heartbeat and stuff.
