Newborn developement at 36.5 weeks

Hi There

I am a bit of a lurker, but anytime I ask a question on here, always get good answers, so hoping someone out there can help with this query:

I gave birth to my DD1 a week ago Saturday. I was 36 +3 weeks, and was delivered by CS due to my misbehaving blood pressure. She was 4lb 10oz - only 1lb more than her brother who was born at 32 weeks, 11 years earlier.

I just wanted to check whether developemental things like focussing, finding her fingers, smiling, etc, will go from now, or from when she would have been full term. I should remember from last time, but I think it varies with different things.

Any answers gratefully recieved. Thanks

Congratulations on the birth of your DD!

I think you assume she shouldn't be doing them until when she would be full term so you just need to add on the extra time. So if they say a full term baby smiles around 6 weeks then it might be more like 9-10 weeks for your DD.
